Rates

My rates align with the rate chart published by the Editorial Freelancers Association. 

I provide a custom estimate for each project based on my evaluation of a sample chapter, the level of edit, and the requested turnaround time.

You can choose between my two rate options:

• Hourly: $45 per hour for all levels of service

• Per word:

  • $0.025 to $0.03 for copyediting ($25–$30 per 1,000 words)

  • $0.02 for proofreading ($20 per 1,000 words)

  • A cleanup round can be added to any level of service for $0.01 per word ($10 per 1,000 words).

Rates and billing timelines must be negotiated before any work begins, but I try to make it as painless as possible so that we can get to the good stuff faster.
